I wear many hats – artist, illustrator, foster carer, dog lover, and colour enthusiast.
My days are a mix of drawing, painting, cutting fabric, and tackling a whooooooole lotta admin. Because, let's be real, running a creative business is 20% fun and 80% admin.
From a young age, I always knew I'd end up in the creative industry—I just wasn't sure in what capacity or specific area. However, committing to full-time care of foster children has turned out to be a blessing. It's given me the opportunity to work for myself, providing the flexibility needed to care for them while doing what I love. It's a win-win!
It all started in early 2022...
Late 2021/Early 2022 is when I began learning about surface pattern design and the art licensing world. I was avidly illustrating and spending a lot of time learning how to pitch to potential clients.
It was in March 2022 that I licensed my first patterns. The first, 'Fairy Bread' to Big & Little Dogs and then the second, 'Maisy Daisies' to Sheila May Swim.
Fast forward 2024...
After licensing with many small businesses in both Australia and overseas, I decided to pursue selling my art on fabric by the metre, and launched in March 2024.
When I was younger, my Nan taught me how to sew and I wanted to become a fashion designer. So, by launching fabric, I felt like I was somewhat achieving that childhood dream!
Now...
I am continuing to create colourful and joyful art that can be licensed by businesses big and small, as well as releasing fabric collections and expanding my sewing/crafting brand!
I have many more ideas and am looking forward to what the future brings!
My hope is that my art and products infuse joy and colour into your life, capturing the same love I pour into them.
All my designs are entirely original, born from the inspiration drawn from my foster children and the vivid, joy-filled life I wish for them every day. Nature, particularly the florals, and my childhood in the Whitsundays, also play a significant role in shaping my creations.
